Health Care for All?
Today in the Oval Office President Obama will sign into effect a memo granting health benefits to same sex partners for federal employees. This causes much criticism since last week the president supported toe Defense of Marriage Act. The Act fights against same sex marriages as well as incestuous marriages.
Advocates of the Gay and Lesbian community are outraged that the president has not done any work towards repealing the military’s, “dont ask dont tell,” policy.
Obama still holds strong to his belief that he is, “a fierce advocate for gay and lesbian Americans.”
Well, for now, they have health care. I guess thats one step.
