We’re Gone!!!! Is Misson Accomplished?

There’s a party going on in Bhagdad right now. And I guess that’s because US Forces are starting to pull out of politically stable Iraq…uhh..maybe that last statement was wrong, but US Forces are pulling out and there is much to be celebrated in the country’s capitol. Insurgent forces retaliated about this by, yet again, bombing a Northern Iraqi city. At least 50 people were wounded and at least 20 killed.
Many Iraqis feel that they will finally be a free nation when they dont see US military control in their cities. There are other Iraqis that feel that they will be unsafe without the US patroled precense. Within the last ten days there have been a string of attacks that have injured over 200 people. Seriously, what makes it okay to attack your own people when you strive for freedom???? Wake up!!!!
Anyway, I am glad that we are realizing as a nation that this is not our problem. We helped them out of the dictatorship and now we need to let them be for the state of our own country. We cannot continue to save the world if we cannot save ourselves. This is a Nalini quote and I will find you if you use it!!!!

Jacko Beat it!

Well, I had to talk about it at some point.  It took me a while because I have been very saddened by the entire ordeal. Michael Jackson Beat it last week on Thursday afternoon. The incident seems to be loaded with suspicion as the doctor high tailed it out of dodge after Jacko went into cardiac arrest. And who is the mysterious 911 caller? Cant the police figure out where the call came from? Im confused.
According to Dr Gupta, you know, the guy that eats all the weird stuff on TV, Jackson had an apparent drug problem when he spoke with him. It seems as if he was getting drugs because he was in a lot of pain, drugs that Gupta feels could possibly have led to the King of Pop’s untimely death.
The Princess of Pop agrees with Gupta saying that drug abuse was her main reason she split with Jackson after a few short years of marriage. It was hard for her to see Michael go down the same path that killed her famous father.
Througout Jackson’s adult life, mystery seemed to loom him. There was the issue of the abusive father, the strange marriages that he had, and most interestingly, the accusations of child molestation. I am not sure if I believe all this BS about the molestation charges. It just seems to shady.
Well, Michael was a pop icon, making it cool for men to grab their crotches on TV, making monsters sexy, selling the highest selling album of all time (selling, I sure used that word a lot there), and influencing generations of people.
I personally am saddened by his loss… I mean, Thriller? Come on, even though he was weird you always have some reason to love the guy…

150 Years For Madoff? Cant He Get a Realistic Sentence?????

I get it that Madoff was a bad bad dude, a liar, a cheat, a scumbag, a Republican, a stealer, a cheat, I guess to sum it up, just a b-bad b-bad b-man.  But 150 years???  That just doesnt seem to make sense to me.  Now I am saying 150 is a whole bunch more times better than the 12 years that his dumb ass lawyer Ira Lee Sorkin was asking for.  I mean, in Madoff’s own words he, “How can you excuse betraying thousands of investors?” he asked. “How can you excuse deceiving hundreds of employees? How can you excuse lying to and deceiving your wife who still stands by you?”  Why is this jerk off asking these questions?  Shouldnt we be asking him for those answers.  Buddy, you helped this financial crisis along, ruining people’s lives, for what?  So YOU could get richer?  So YOU can stomp all over innocent people?  I just want to know, who is going to pay us all back?  I think the fair way to punish Madoff is to have him work back the money that he stole, lied, and cheated out of people.  It’s only an estimated 13 billion dollar deal, right?  If he worked so hard to screw people out of it, he can work hard to getting that money back.

No one put it better than his own wife, “I have a marriage made in heaven. You have [a] marriage made in hell, and that’s where you’ll return. May God spare you no mercy.”

Last year, millions of Americans came together for a great purpose.

Folks like you assembled a grassroots movement that shocked the political establishment and changed the course of our nation. When Washington insiders counted us out, we put it all on the line and changed our democracy from the bottom up. But that’s not why we did it.

The pundits told us it was impossible — that the donations working people could afford and the hours volunteers could give would never loosen the vise grip of big money and powerful special interests. We proved them wrong. But as important as that was, that’s not why we did it.

Today, spiraling health care costs are pushing our families and businesses to the brink of ruin, while millions of Americans go without the care they desperately need. Fixing this broken system will be enormously difficult. But we can succeed. The chance to make fundamental change like this in people’s daily lives — that is why we did it.

The campaign to pass real health care reform in 2009 is the biggest test of our movement since the election. Once again, victory is far from certain. Our opposition will be fierce, and they have been down this road before. To prevail, we must once more build a coast-to-coast operation ready to knock on doors, deploy volunteers, get out the facts, and show the world how real change happens in America.

And just like before, I cannot do it without your support.

So I’m asking you to remember all that you gave over the last two years to get us here — all the time, resources, and faith you invested as a down payment to earn us our place at this crossroads in history. All that you’ve done has led up to this — and whether or not our country takes the next crucial step depends on what you do right now.

Peace Iranians Peace!

I am a little confused about the controversy that is happening in Iran. While, it seems very likely that the election was rigged in favor of Ahmadinejad, I dont understand why this is resorting to violence. Mir Hossein Moussavi has asked for peace. He urged a new election and did not receive it. This seems like crap as well, but there are some political experts that think that it is possible for Ahmadinejad to have won the vote fair and square. There are rural conservatives within the Iranian population that make up 62% of the votes, which could have been the reason for the ultra religious conservative to win the race. I feel that the Iranians really lucked out in the way this vote went. I think that Moussavi has a better idea of what is going on in the world and would have tried to take Iran to that direction. But I dont think that we as Americans should and can go to Iran and demand that they have a recount. We can police them from afar but it is not our job to go there and change their politics. We can urge for a peaceful way to fix the problem. See, I think that if this problem isnt fixed right away there is going to be a lot of rebellion within the country, mainly with the country’s youths, in the days to come. There should not be a problem with a recount if the stats were correct in the first place. I think that would be a peaceful way to resolve this. But I think we as Americans would kinda look dumb doing that; remember the Election of 2000? I am so glad that I chose not to vote for either candidate, although looking back, Bush did screw America and maybe (maybe) Gore would have done things better. But that is neither here nor there. All I do know is that I hope the protesters, who have done a fantastic job of this already, stay peaceful and that the police try to keep it peaceful too. There’s something like 7 deaths so far in during this craziness on Monday. Cant the police not resort to violence? Isnt there job to, “keep the peace?” or is that just in America??? (Ah, what can I say, we had Rodney King and look how that ended up). Although, protesters shouldnt be attacking military posts. Thats a bit much. That also isnt going to help out with their point. Moussavi made a good point though, “You are not breaking glass,” he said. “You are breaking tyranny.” Man, can that man speak!
Im not sure what Mohammad Ali Abtahi did but apparently he was arrested. He was a strong Moussavi supporter but I am still unclear as to how he got behind bars.
I think that there is a valuable lesson to all of this. Conservatism sucks, democracy rocks!

A study by Harvard Business School professor Benjamin Edelman shows that Utah outpaces even more conservative states — which all tend to purchase more Internet porn than other states.

Online porn subscription rates are higher in states that enacted conservative legislation banning same-sex marriage or civil unions, and where surveys show support for conservative positions on religion, gender roles and sexuality, according to the Harvard analysis published in the Journal of Economic Perspectives.

Utah’s No. 1 score may have to do with its demographics, particularly its large population of young people, Edelman said. Other factors are income, education and marital status. But, “even when I control for income, age, education, and marital status, Utah residents still consume disproportionately more than people from other states,” Edelman said.

The study used data from anonymous credit card sales from a top 10 Internet porn provider that operates hundreds of Web sites offering a wide variety of adult entertainment. Edelman then correlated that data with ZIP code information for his analysis.

WTF is up with Dick? SHUT UP!!!!

Dick Cheney, as Jon Stewart suggests, “doesnt know dick,” seemed like he didnt know dick when he was VP. NOW, he talks as if he should know dick, but he STILL doesnt know dick. Dick, in recent intervies, has not shut up about Obama’s security policies, mostly arguing against the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He keeps saying America’s not safe, we are asking for a terrorist attack. Is Obama’s plans asking for a terrorist attack or is Cheney’s titanium built bones?
In a recent interview with CIA Director, Leon Panetta, he stated that Cheney’s newly founded critisim of a leader, “dangerous politics.” NO SHIT! Cheney’s basically shouting out of his old ass mouth that we are not safe, come attack us! I do not feel that closing Guantanamo Bay makes our country un-safe and I could not wrap my head around why we had it in the first place. We are suppose to hate Cuba, yet we have a Bay over there and are keeping our most violent criminals there. That just doesnt seem to make sense to me. Remember the guy that ate men? Jeffery Dahmer? He was a crazy person that was kept in the United States. We kept him under wraps pretty good until he was killed by a fellow inmate.
I just want Cheney to STFU already. We didnt care about what you said when you were VP, not that you actually came out of the closet much, but we dont care now. Maybe you and Rush should run off to a deserted island together.
