Oops! AIG did it again!

With millions of Americans suffering from loss of jobs, loss of their homes, cars, lack of health insurance, their battles are being put on hold so the government can argue about how we are going to pay to help Americans during this crisis.  In the mist of the fighting, AIG has asked for and was granted even MORE money for them to loose.  Does this sound fair to anyone?

They were irresponsible with their money and outright lied to the American Market about their earnings, but this company, after having a blowout party when they received their first bail out funds, gets bailed out by the government again?

Not only were they greedy but they were a bunch of greedy crooks.  Check out this story that  CNN Business posted about their executives…….

Former CEO sues AIG

Maurice Greenberg, ex-chief executive of the hemorrhaging insurance giant, and the largest individual shareholder, accuses AIG of hiding losses.

NEW YORK (Reuters) — American International Group Inc, whose $61.66 billion quarterly loss was the largest ever for a U.S. company, has been sued for securities fraud by former Chief Executive Maurice “Hank” Greenberg.

Now, I understand that there was a lot of fluff in the original Obama Bailout Plan.  But the thing that irks me about this is that Republicans are attacking the plan with gusto, claiming that we don’t know how we will ever pay this money back.  If Bill Clinton was able to balance the budget when he inherited it from George Bush Sr. then I am sure that Obama can hope for something to work if he tries to balance to budget.

I understand all the questions that the Republicans are asking.  But here are my questions that don’t get answered.  Who is regulating this money that these huge banking businesses need in order not to fail?  Why are they buying expensive jets and live in flourish homes in the Hampton’s?  Why cant I get a ride on that private jet that AIG bought with taxpayers dollars?  Why dosent anyone question how we are going to continue to finance a war in Iraq?  Where is that money going to come from?  If you don’t want to have more money sent to Iraq then you are automatically assumed to be unpatriotic or you dont love our troops.  Everyone loves are troops, lets get that out in the open.  No one wants to see American soldiers wounded or killed, no matter what their circumstance is.  I dont want to see an American soldier fall in vain, and really, are we fighting this war in vain?  Why did I get laid off of my job twice last year?  Why will I never work for another corporation because they can lay me off the second they stop making as high of profits as they did last year?  These are the questions that I ask, and I want someone from AIG to come to me and tell me that their struggle this last year has been harder than mine.  If they do, then I will accept that they receive the bailout money and support them on my blogs.  So, I dare someone from AIG to come to me and say they have it worse and they need this money more.

Someone challenge me on this!
